![]() ![]() Still had a blast playing FH3, and even if this franchise does recover it’s former glory, that entry will always hold a special place in my heart. I didn’t really get good at driving until about mid-to-late FH4 (also about the time I started realizing that I’m actually really into racing games). I remember creating huge custom championships for rivalries that only existed in my head Porsche 911 vs Nissan GTR is totally a thing, right? ![]() I remember having to pick a starting car, hmming and hawing over having to choose between a pre-souped up Silvia S2000 (my favorite Silvia) and a Shelby GT350R, and after picking the GT350R and racing it a few times in whatever races I wanted thinking: “Man, **** other racing games and their restrictive ********”. It was the sequel to NFS: Underground 2 I’d always hoped for and more. One of the first games as a part of this program: Forza Horizon 3. Then game Microsoft’s brilliant announcement that all exclusives would be coming to Windows as well. The Forza Horizon series caught my eye right from the beginning, but I wasn’t willing to risk buying an Xbox just for a game I wasn’t 100% certain about. I wanted open world and I wanted at least decent physics. I want really that into the genre at the time and every game I tried after that one was either too arcadey or too restrictive. Issue was, it kind of ruined other racing games for me for a long while. I bought Need for Speed: Underground 2 on a whim an absolutely loved it. While I’ve become rather disappointed with the direction of the franchise, the lack of alternatives plus a bit of FH stockholm syndrome has kept me playing. Since then, Forza games have basically become the only ones I play. After I completed that game, I went and bought FH2 and had a ton of fun in that game as well. ![]() I loved the open-world concept, the massive car list, the gorgeous Australia map, and all of the great features like the Bucket List and custom championships. I immediately fell in love with FH3 the same way I did FM4 and it remains my most played game by far. I immediately fell in love with that game and played for probably hundreds of hours.įast forward about 5 years and I stumbled upon Forza Horizon 3, which ended up being my reintroduction to the franchise after a few years away. Then I discovered Forza Motorsport 4, which was my first exposure to the Forza franchise. One of my earliest racing games was NFS Carbon, I played that for a long time and enjoyed it a lot. The tuning is basically what keeps me coming back and it genuinely feels rewarding to log in and see a bunch of players have downloaded and used your tunes. It took a long time, and it was at times discouraging when tunes wouldn’t get any downloads, but I did eventually make it to legendary tuner status and my Festival Playlist tunes have generally done well since then. I still love the Festival Playlist but what really hooked me in FH5 was dabbling with tuning.Īfter a year and a half of tuning I’m still learning and the forum members here have been helpful. ![]() I was still enjoying FH4 when FH5 released so it seemed like a no brainer to buy it. I ended up buying FH4 and its expansions later in its life cycle, but I kind of got hooked on the Festival Playlist. I had some fun with it for a bit but didn’t really get into it until much later again. My launch Xbox One died eventually so I bought a One S that came bundled with FH3 and the Hot Wheels expansion. This is another that doesn’t stand out as much as FH3, 4 and 5. Later FH2 was free with Games with Gold and again I had some fun with it but didn’t spend a lot of time with it until much later. At some point they gave us FH1 for free so I started messing around with it and thought it was pretty fun but I don’t look upon it as fondly as most here probably do. ![]()
